The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria will be on hand with an adoptable dog for people to meet. Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington will provide glaucoma screenings, and Physical Therapy Zone will provide free posture evaluations and balance testing. Saville Cancer Center providers assess individual cancer risk, provide detailed plans for age-appropriate cancer screening, and offer support in the form of wellness groups, networking, education and prevention programs. Kids can enjoy a movement break in their space with portable gymnastics equipment.Īlso on hand will be the Inova Alexandria Hospital Saville Cancer Center. The fair will also feature a “Movement Break” corner sponsored by emPOWER kids Joyful Movement Center. Inside the museum, Alexandria businesses, non-profits, and city agencies will highlight opportunities ranging from yoga and physical therapy to fitness and health screenings. Presenters will include Strictly Ebikes, a local bike shop that specializes exclusively in electric bike sales and service. Also outdoors, participants can discover ways to get moving. The Mobile Health Vehicle is for ages 18 and above. Outside, in the museum parking lot, the Kaiser Permanente Mobile Health Vehicle will offer blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and body mass index (BMI) health screenings to help you make sure your health is on track. – 12:30 p.m., meet magician extraordinaire Lorenzo the Great, who will perform magic that is fun for all ages. kids ages 2+ can join Miss Lisa from the Alexandria Library's Barrett Branch for Yoga Story Time. This free, family-friendly event will feature over 20 participants offering health screenings, information about local health and wellness resources, and entertainment. The fair coincides with the museum’s current special exhibition “Alexandria Hospital: Women Mobilize the Community.” for a Health and Wellness Fair and learn about wellness tools and resources available in the community.
